WFCCA Transportation Committee Welcome to the WFCCA
Transportation Committee webpage. This
page was designed to keep you abreast of the important transportation issues
that affect Western Fairfax. The WFCCA Transportation
committee monitors the progress of various transportation projects throughout
the region and provides updates and recommendations (as appropriate) to the
WFCCA membership. If you are interested
in participate in this important WFCCA and are a member organization of the

Projects – Updates Manassas National Battlefield Park Bypass
(BB) Study - The BB
project team has released modifications of alternative D and G; the proposed
changes, as well as the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) are
available on the web site. The Board of Supervisors has requested additional
information on the potential impacts of the bypass. The Final EIS is schedule for release I
late fall. The WFCCA Land Use
Committee voted to support Alternative D and oppose Alternative G. The Battlefield Bypass Study website can be found at
www.battlefieldbypass.com. Tri-County Parkway Location Study – The Environmental Study is
available on the web site. At its
September 26, 2005 meeting, the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors requested
additional study on potential impacts.
The next step in the process is a decision by the Commonwealth
Transportation Board. For more information, visit the VDOT (TCP) website at
www.virginiadot.org/projects/tcp.asp. Fairfax County Transportation Plan Update – Updating the Fairfax County
Transportation Plan is currently underway.
A series of seven public meetings are scheduled in November to present
and discuss proposed revisions. Local
meetings are: Saturday, November 5, 2005 – 9:00AM; Rocky Run Middle
School, 4400 Stringfellow Road, Chantilly Monday, November, 7, 2005 – 7:00PM; Robinson Secondary
School, 5035 Sideburn Road Wednesday, November 9, 2005 7:00PM; Fairfax County
Government Center, 12000 Government Center Parkway, Fairfax Final public hearings before the Planning Commission
and Board of Supervisors, and adoption of the updated transportation plan,
are scheduled for early 2006. For additional information, please visit the Fairfax

end of this year, the Northern Virginia Transportation Authority is updating
the Northern Virginia 2020 Transportation Plan. For additional information on how you can
